DESCRIPTION JOB
TITLE:
Blender JOB
PURPOSE:
Mixing materials in Mixaco and Ribbon Blender for use in production
process. DIRECT
REPORTING RESPONSIBILITIES: Team Leader PHYSICAL
AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY: Blending Room MAJOR
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for accurate
weigh-up of pigments, additives, and other raw materials.
Also responsible for housekeeping in the blending rooms. LIST
OF ACTIVITIES TO BE PERFORMED: Weigh
and blend ingredients according to the Blend Log.
Maintain housekeeping in blend area; operate Mixaco and Ribbon Blender;
maintain record of ingredients mixed. KNOWLEDGE
NEEDED FOR THE JOB: Good knowledge of staging
and destaging procedures. Must
understand operating principles of Mixaco and Ribbon Blender. EDUCATIONAL
REQUIREMENTS:
High School Diploma or GED equivalent CERTIFICATION
REQUIREMENTS:
Within one year in position based on attached skill requirements. TYPES
OF DECISIONS TO BE MADE: Compare Blend Log to PIP.
Must know when a material appears visually “off spec”. PHYSICAL
REQUIREMENTS:
Must be able to perform lifting necessary to empty raw materials into
Mixaco. TOOLS
& EQUIPMENT TO BE USED: Ribbon Blender, Mixaco,
forklift and pallet jack. OPERATION
OF EQUIPMENT:
Operates and maintains Mixaco Mixer, Ribbon Blender and scales. PREVENTIVE
MAINTENANCE TASKS: Observe and report scale
failures and equipment malfunctions. TROUBLESHOOTING
RESPONSIBILITIES: Equipment and scale
abnormalities. SAFETY
PRECAUTIONS:
Must be trained with all OSHA required safety training including proper
lifting techniques; Right-to-Know; Lock-out/Tag-out; Blood borne Pathogens and
First Aid; PPE requirements. QUALITY
ASSURANCE COMPLIANCE STANDARDS: Must
comply with internal QA standards and procedures and all applicable QS 9000
requirements. HOUSEKEEPING
RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for general
housekeeping as well as mixing equipment cleanliness. TERMINOLOGY: Terms related to plastic processing and raw materials.
Also, internal terminology related to forms and procedures. |
